This season began with the designer’s philosophy of mixing the past with the future – hence the German word Mischen – meaning, “to mix”. Spring 2008 fuses sharp tailoring with edgy elements in both design, print & pattern work.

Geometric and abstract works by artists Clyfford Still and Sonia Delaunay inspired a varied and quirky abstract foundation in both print & color palette. Delaunay’s use of geometric shapes and color blocking were the inspiration when creating the graphic and abstract prints (i.e. Abstract Stars, Sonia Rose, etc.). Still’s use of vibrant pop-y & electric colors in his larger than life paintings inspired the vivid color palette for this Spring collection.

Katherine Hepburn, Eileen Gray, Louise Brooks, Isabella Blow ­ sometimes it¹s not even how they dressed, but how they contributed to art & fashion... I love Cate Blanchett, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kirsten Dunst & Chloe Sevigny, they make celebrity fashion exciting. I wish there were more celebrities these days who took risks & chances on their wardrobe choices..
