For summer 2008 Manuela Arcari designs contemporary elegance, constructed with shapes that sculpture new proportions: long slim figures bloom like petals at the top of the bust. Soft wide necks, the collection's dominant motif, let the face 'bloom' with aristocratic allure. The taste of quality design is softened by a male touch - a constant feature in the stylist's repertoire - that lightens weight and draws out the construction's pure simplicity. Exclusive prints recall water colours on Washi paper (soft and slightly damp handmade Japanese paper). Sober colours - lime-wash, grey and midnight blue - and, black and white male weaves seem stolen from the atmospheres of Junihiro Tanizachi's “Shadow Book”. Blue verging on violet becomes dazzling, while green and coral add flashes of light.
